“Based on the fact that there is a substantial chance of negotiations, that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.”
Many people have wondered what position the president has taken on the Israel-Iran conflict after Israel launched strikes on Iran on June 12. Press Secretary Leavitt released the statement yesterday on behalf of the President stating that we should see a decision within the next two weeks.
We’ve seen many split on the potential for U.S. involvement in the Iran conflict. Many want to see the U.S. support Israel, specifically to help dismantle Iran’s nuclear program through its bunker-buster bombs that will be needed to penetrate Iran’s security. However, many have hoped that the president will stay out of the conflict, hoping to avoid another long war in the Middle East.
President Trump has stated in the past that he hoped that Iran would make a deal, and that they are now regretting that deal. The conlfict has been going on for over a week now, and Israel is hoping for the support of the United States. There is question whether or not Israel will be able to find success without the involvement and support fomr the United States.
