Bob Uecker, well-known broadcaster of the Milwaukee Brewers, passed away at the age of 90 today. Uecker, known by many as “Mr. Baseball,” had a historic career as a broadcaster, Major League player, and even an actor.

Uecker was a Major League Baseball player from 1962-1967. After he retired from baseball, he started his broadcasting career with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971. He continued to broadcast through the latest season in 2024.

Bob Uecker played the play-by-play broadcaster for the Cleveland Indians in the film “Major League.” While many in the baseball world know of Uecker, the film allowed for a major audience to learn of the reallife broadcaster.
Bob Uecker went on throughout his career to appear on many late-night shows, while also authoring two books, Catcher in the Wry (1982) and Catcher in Wry Can (1983).
Bob will be missed by millions of fans.
